Biography
The son of a preacher man, Steve Edwards is simply, one of the most successful singer/songwriters in house music today.
Steve is considered to be one of the truly global voices of house music. His cv of collaborations reads like a who's who of the very best in dance music including Cassius, Xpress 2, Basement Jaxx, Yves LaRock, Alex Gaudino, Axwell & of course, singer of choice for Bob Sinclar.
His singles include the hits, Watch the Sunrise, Sound Of Violence, Listen to the Voice Inside, Peace Song, Together & of course World Hold On which received a Grammy nomination culminating in the winning of the biggest selling dance song at the World Music Awards in London 2007.
Steve has had 3 number 1's on the US Billboard Dance Club Chart & recently worked on a roots version of his massive Bob Sinclar hits called 'Made in Jamaica' with reggae legends Sly & Robbie in Kingston, Jamaica.
Steve is writing with the Shapeshifters for Defected & their first track together 'Helter Skelter' has become one of the anthems of 2010. Their follow up 'She Freaks' will be released in the near future.
Not content to let grass grow beneath his feet, Steve has put the finishing touches to 'Keep Us Together' w/ D Ramirez which is out soon on Toolroom.
Steve's debut solo album 'Northern Black' is expected to be out in 2011 coinciding with a series of live shows with his fantastic band The Big Strong Love
